God's grace is free and the greatest meal ever... The Eucharist is free as well

In my last post I wrote about the high financial cost of being a Catholic in my diocese and the price tag attached to hear my Bishop "speak about the Bible" ...

My thoughts if my Bishop wanted to be a Professor of theology and teach with a fee attached, he should have stayed at Seton Hall University and did so.

But once he accepted the position of Bishop, his job is to Shepard the people in his diocese (all of them) who already donate to their local parish and donate to the Bishop's many special funds throughout the year, donate to Catholic Charities, donate to retired priests religious funds, donate to the Pope's projects, donate to missionaries throughout the year, donate to homeless shelters, donate right to life charities ... in addition to paying for their children's religious education in any given parish... paying for a Mass to be said for a special intention, paying to light a candle in a Church, paying to have the wine and bread offered for an intention ... and forget about the high cost of a funeral, wedding or a Baptism in the Church ... then you can also pay extra for the choir to sing at these events ...  and if you want to go to a Christmas concert in your parish ... fork up your money folks it is not free ... it is obscene ...

And least we forget the Sunday and holy days collection baskets that go around to the laity as well ... and of course all this money to the Church is tax free... unlike what the laity has to do .. pay taxes on their eared money ... while the Bishop and other members of the hierarchy live off donations (tax free donations) ... then my Bishop has the brass to charge for a Bible study for his own "sheep" in his own diocese ... WOW ... a stunning lack of perception as well as as reality to what a Bishop is called it do ...

But I read the Bishop will discuss the "Old Testament" ... hope it includes Sodom and Gomorrah
and the sin of sodomy  ....

I also read this "talk" by the Bishop will be on a post graduate level ... once again the Bishop shows himself to be a man of the people ... down to earth,  relatable ... a folksy and humble man ... just the way Jesus was
