Rosh Hashanah, the head of the New Year 5780

Judaism the “religion”  Jesus Christ practiced when he walked on earth … not the puritanical Catholicism that I was born into… Jesus’ native religion was and is so far removed from what we are taught. The glitz and glamour of the Vatican and the US Bishops who live high on the hog, versus the humble God/man and also St. Peter … they totally stayed away from “pork” as it is known in its religious restrictions and also as it is known for politicians and religious who live off the pork of their inflated budgets and money collecting …

So as Rosh Hashanah starts tonight, at sundown … I will eat honey and apples, read Genesis, listen to the sounds of the Shofar and think about Gabriel blowing his horn to announce the coming of Jesus Christ on a cloud of glory … to straighten out the bow ties of those who came in “His name” to fill their own pockets, with earthy glory …

There are two holy days that are profoundly symbolic to me ... they would be Christmas Eve (at midnight)  and the evening of the first day of Rosh Hashanah... the sound of the Shofar  is magical to me ... it hits deep within my soul to "awake" and remember God and self as in how have you treated people and to ask God to write your name for one more year into the book of life...

The Torah calls for you to listen to the Shofar on Rosh Hashanah in a certain fashion ... one long blast ... one short blast ... one long blast ... in sets of three. The readings are from Genesis...

One of my most graced days in life was when I was asked to stand with the Rabbi as the "Holy ark" was opened and the scrolls were taken out to be read on the first day of Rosh Hashanah.. it was surreal to me, truly a mystical expedience, I was thrown back mentally to when Jesus Christ stood in his local synagogue and read from the scrolls.

Shanah Tovah … have a good and sweet year
