What is Ethical ... What is Moral ???

I am struggling with ethics and morals; nothing new for me though been doing this for the last 32 plus years … Human beings tend to have a “situational moral and ethical behavior”, hard as we may try, when we are in the situation even the lofty stances fall to fit a situation …

 we have the amazing ability to rationalize situations and reactions as being appropriate for the time … such as the church, saying there is “justifiable war”, when they serve the “Prince of Peace” … how is that anything but a tragic oxymoron to the message of Christ …

 Maybe life is a series of tragic oxymoron’s ??? Honor among thieves another tragic oxymoron … and does the end justify the means … “greater good”, what is a greater good, a personal preference??? 

An opinion on how things should be and laced with personal gain; and what is peace is it within or in the environment …peace for me has to be within and around like a bubble wrap that surrounds you in a very violent, arbitrary world…   letting it go knowing wiser minds have tried to fix the world in the past and have failed and to realize it is God’s world he is in charge …

I do believe in an absolute truth, but I also believe there is an individual truth within every person… and that is their compass in life… Many in life will take on “when in Rome do like the Romans” many will say “when in Rome, do like yourself” … I think I sway back and forth on leaning more towards the latter …

But why do I post now about morals and ethics …I need your help … you tell me what is moral and ethical in these situations…

As I wrote on another Blog I have been active in the “illegal/ undocumented Mexican/ South American community” … I see many women coming to this country illegally who are pregnant and their children will be born as an American citizen all while the mother is wearing a black ankle monitor for her status or because she is scheduled to be deported… yet once she gives birth the deportation is stopped (is that moral/ ethical)???  And a long legal battle begins (free of charge is that moral /ethical) …

 I know one such woman who gave birth to a very sick baby, the baby was treated in the best of hospitals, free of charge for over a month (sadly the baby died) the mother showed me a itemized bill for the health care this baby received it was for $786,000 , she will pay nothing on this bill the taxpayers will (is that moral/ is that ethical) and that is just one such undocumented immigrant and child and the mother received/s free health care as well and free housing, food stamps WIC benefits, Catholic Charities now favors this community over American citizens and they receive grants as well … they are schooled for free and receive tutoring for free…

Meanwhile I know 13 year old boy, whose parents are hardworking Americans, the boy was just diagnosed with one of the rarest forms of cancer for a child to have and his chances of survival are low … This family has to work on a “budget” as to what care their child can have and how they will be able to afford anything extra … their housing is not provided for, there food is not provided for nor is their child’ s health care provided for without their insurance … whereas the “immigrant and their children who are here illegal has all of this free”… (Is that moral/ is that ethical) should the taxpayer be forced to pay for someone else’s child while they cannot afford the same level of care for their own child (is that moral is that ethical) … is someone else’s child more important than your own (is that moral is that ethical)   

I do not know you tell me... What is moral … what is ethical …?  

  

How about this … society sees a photograph of a child at the border and riots in the streets over  the photo … yet DYFS has hundreds of cases of children being abused in their own homes in the US, many dying right in their own homes and no one marches in the streets for them (it that moral is that ethical ) ???
