The Gates of Hell
OK.... whoa and what the frock! … The gates
of hell are a “political incorrect” thing to say. I learned this last evening
on the high school track…
Last night, the high school marching
band was practicing for the first time this school year on the football field …
I just love walking the track when they are practicing … such great energy and
fun to listen to and they are talented young musicians …
They formed different
groups to practice, the drum section, the wood winds, even the flag twirlers were
on the field… they all seemed so happy and up beat … Then they started to bring
props onto the field, their first show is this Friday and they wanted to practice
with the props … and I noticed the flag twirlers put on black robes and instead
of their flags, they were now holding chains and a few had shovels and one with
a pitch fork … then they rolled in … the giant gates … and as soon I saw them …
I said OMG they look like the gates of hell …
And the flag twirlers turned into
demons! (As in their costumes) …. So I asked one of the advisers on the field …
you have the gates of hell on the field???? And she replied, “We do not use
that word, they are the scary gates” … what the frock!!!! Demons… large gates, looks like hell to me!!! But least I offend someone … it is the “scary gates” and
people in black robes, with chains and shovels … just dancing… that is all …
and I think for this posting this meme is appropriate
