They told us
that they were “chosen by God” via the Holy Spirit and this is why we had to
obey them…. The Egyptians’ were pretty much told the same thing about the
Pharaoh, as were the Hebrews, about the scribes and Pharisees during the time Christ walked on
earth …
They told us
they are “for life” as in their ministry and their calling, most especially the
Pope, after all the Pope holds the keys to the kingdom, doesn't he? To the point when John Paul II was alive at the end of his papacy he
could not talk, he could not sit up straight and he was senile, did he resign,
retire “NO” … we are lead to believe that he went about the business of the
church as usual… because he was “Pope forever” … but who was really running the
church at that time? … And what about the Pope who "resigned" Benedict, did he turn in those heavenly keys? Does a Pope quitting (there was one in the past that did this as well) does that constitute a "break in the chain of authority" to which St. Peter was given???
They told us
they had a “calling from God” to go out and spread the good news (sounds like a
job description to me) , yet in home diocese that “call upon his soul”, from my
Bishop comes with a price tag you want to hear him speak about the Bible cough
up $50 then drive to an upscale area of the diocese and hear the Bishop talk. …
and hey he speaks to a Book that is not even his own “The Bible” , such belongs
to God …
I also ponder in the "real world" as in if you are hired by a large corporation and you are highly skilled in the area and they hired you to be the head of one of their divisions ... normally you have to sign a "non compete clause" ... meaning you cannot whore yourself out on the company and have a side business, using their data bases and customers of the company you work for to make money on the side for yourself... This seems to be what my Bishop is doing by selling "tickets to hear him speak about the Bible"...
We live in a Bat Shit Crazy world on all levels …
