prayers and thoughts for Mary Rose Ballocanag
I remember when Ethan Couch, the drunk teen who killed 4 people with his car
and his defense was he suffered from “affluenza” … he had too much money and privilege!
His
parents were so wealthy they never taught him “good behavior”, he got whatever
he wanted in life, so that was his defense and the judge allowed it!
Ethan was taught all his life
that his wealth can get him out of trouble and avoid consequences. And on the
day he was sentenced the judge sealed the deal and told him that he could
literally get away with murder… Ethan only got “probation” … (Shame on that
judge) … shame on those parents ... in essence society must suffer at the hands of a spoiled brat is what that sentence taught us.
I was reminded of the story, when I read yesterday the driver in a head-on Delaware crash that killed five members
of a New Jersey family has been sentenced to one year
of probation.
Alvin Hubbard III of
Cambridge was sentenced last Friday. He pleaded guilty in June to five misdemeanor
counts of operating a motor vehicle causing death and two misdemeanor counts of
vehicular assault.
The judge gave Hubbard the maximum
combined sentence of 14 years but suspended the prison time to a year of
probation. Wow kill 4 people and you get one year probation !!!
Mary Rose Ballocanag, 52, of Teaneck, New Jersey, her
husband Audie Trinidad, 61, and their four daughters Kaitlyn, 20, Danna, 17,
and twins Allison and Melissa, 13, were returning from a trip to Ocean City,
Maryland, in July of last year when
a pickup truck driven by Hubbard crossed a median and hit their minivan,
investigators said.
Ballocanag survived. Her husband
and four daughters all died.
"Part of me died that
day," Ballocanag
said about the crash.
Hubbard and his passenger
walked away without serious injuries.
Investigators took more than
three months to conclude the investigation leading to charges against
Hubbard. They determined that Hubbard operated his truck in a criminally
negligent manner when he exited his lane of travel, crossed the center median
between a multi-lane highway and crashed into oncoming traffic.
Shame on the Delaware Court system that let this man walk
with no jail time for killing (no wiping out an entire family) …
There are somethings I am really invested in … one
being reckless driving, drunk driving, etc by anyone on the road.… they kill more people in American
than guns do … My step- granddaughter was killed by a drunk driver and I was hit 3 times, by distracted/ reckless drivers … and have permanent injuries and chronic pain from theses crashes …
and these judges who on "some level" allow such behavior of reckless driving that results in death or severe injury to go unpunished, so the behavior continues … Criminal justice reform is spoken about a lot lately.... how about the victims being given justice .... People picket when they see an undocumented child separated from their parents (alleged parents that is for many of these children are used by human traffickers) ... yet where is the outrage for Mrs. Ballocanag losing her entire family at the hands of reckless driver...

Poor Mary Rose Ballocanag for the rest of her life she will be dealing with the horrific loss of her entire family, what a hard and painful Cross she has ... may God comfort her ...
As the holidays approach do not drink and drive and always be mindful when you drive ....
